Kühtai has proved itself many times over as an outstanding location for altitude training and high-performance training. Countless professional sportsmen and women have made use of the training facilities, the high-altitude location at over 2,000 metres above sea level and Kühtai's excellent tourist infrastructure in order to prepare for competition.

The world-class speed skater won two Olympic gold medals (2002 and 2006) and holds more than 15 world champion titles and 4 European champion titles.

Under the auspices of Edgar Eisenkolb, trainer with the German Athletic Federation (DLV), Jonna Tilgner, Claudia Hoffmann, Florence Ekpo-Umoh, Janin Lindenberg, Sorina Nwachukwu and Sylvia Semkowicz prepared here in Kühtai for the Peking Olympic Games (2006).
DLV trainer Edgar Eisenkolb (2006): "For the past two weeks we have been using the high-altitude location of Austria’s highest winter and sport resort Kühtai as our place of residence and minimising risks by doing our speed running down in the Inn Valley."

The triathlete and winner of Olympic gold in Athens (2004) won numerous international titles during the course of her sporting career.

The national rowing teams make use of Kühtai’s excellent training infrastructure and its high-altitude location of over 2,000 metres above sea level to prepare for a wide spectrum of competitions.

Austrian national judo team
The Austrian national judo team, including Ludwig Paischer who later went on to win Olympic silver, prepared here in Kühtai for the 2006 Olympic Games in Peking.
Elisabeth Niedereder, Austrian national 800-metre champion
The Austrian national 800-metre champion between 2004 and 2010 uses the Kühtai High-Altitude Training Centre on a regular basis in preparation for competitions.
